I've got the Willhees

Ok, so he won. Good. <insert fanfare here>
- Will he dismantle the Military-Industrial Complex?
- Will he dismantle the War On Drugs?
- Will he give back the power the Presidency took from the Congress in the name of the War On Terror?
- Will he give us back our Civil Liberties?
If not, nothing has changed.
To quote Mean Girls, "Boo, you whore". Just let us enjoy this tonight and we'll revisit this in a year to see what's happened.
He's got 100 days. Or else...
I'll give him a piece of my mind!
Stop trying to make 'enjoy' happen!

|(Link)|I've found the (or, at least a, very good) answer.
Worth a read. Getting there however, is overwhelmingly difficult to envision. Perhaps going back to Australia, I will play a part in this somehow, I can hope. I'm going to be just outside the capital where parliament is. I could get involved with one of the parties and work my way up...
BUT...How are you to avoid the fate that's befallen everyone who has ever ventured near the abyss of politics?

I don't think politics is the answer... I think it has to be some kind of revolution that occurs outside the system, or an intentional community with intelligent leaders, skilled designers, engineers, etc etc that just starts small, builds it for itself and shows the world what is possible.
Post more of this shit, man!!
Jesus, I feel like I'm all alone amidst the masses of goose-stepping closet socialist retards. I need to know that there are still some intelligent people amidst the hordes of status quo imbeciles.

At least a good framework to start with, anyway. How it would run practically, who knows.
But I'm all for minimising welfare and providing for the lazy and incompotent - a culture that demands and expects at least a moderate level of skillfulness, intelligence and flixible, robust adequacy can only ever breed people who are raised to be those things.
Perhaps it's illuminist thinking. But when the power is given to dumbed down, drug-addled, obese, lazy people to determine the course of the future, SOMETHING IS WRONG.
I'm running against him as a republican someday:
"Aren't you tired of N-----s asking you for CHANGE?"
I'm compiling a list. Will post to LJ soon.
This scared the sheep out of me: Obama promises to suspend Habeas Corpus
He's going to "set up a legal regime" where habeas corpus
is suspended, rather than Bush's ad hoc
That is scary. People will be legally disappeared for years. How long before they're disappeared permanently?
